Kids in the Garden Course

In this 3 hour mini course taught by Dan, we’ll learn about the soil food web, how to make compost and how to grow tomatoes vertically up a string. This course will be highly interactive. We’ll hunt for soil food web members, harvest worms for our compost and plant tomatoes.

Student participants will take home a tomato plant in a large pot that they can grow for themselves. We’ll also be giving seed potatoes and other seeds.

Our intention is to inspire young people by helping them realize an abundant harvest of easy to grow foods so that they will be encouraged to take up gardening in their lives.

When: Saturday, May 6 from 9 am to 12 pm.
