Tokyo Turnips
serves 4-6 as a side
Directions
Trim greens from turnips, remove tough stems, discard stems, and chop up greens
Half the turnips, wash, and dry
Heat 30ml butter, add onions and carrots, sauté till soft. Add chopped turnip greens and water (and sugar if you are using)
Bring to a simmer
In separate pan, heat remaining butter and olive oil, sauté turnips, 2-3 minutes on each side till golden
Add to greens, cover pan, and bake in 350 degree, 10-15 minutes or till turnips tender
Season with salt and pepper, serve
